Carrick Mind Allotment Project
Carrick Mind is pleased to announce the commencement of a new and exciting project. The Carrick Mind Allotment Project will be based in Falmouth and is being supported by the Falmouth and District Allotments and Gardens Society who have agreed to allow us to use their community plot.
Ecotherapy is the name given to a wide range of programmes that aim to promote good mental and physical wellbeing through outdoor activity in a green environment. Being able to connect with nature has positive mental health benefits. And it has been shown that being more active in green environments can boost your mood and self-esteem far more than simply exercising alone.
The Project will be managed by Tony McGarr who has been a volunteer with Carrick Mind for a number of years. The Project will give clients the opportunity to grow their own vegetables and flowers, spend time outside, develop an interest or maybe increase their knowledge of gardening.
